Pig iron generally refers to the iron alloy with a carbon content of 2~4.3%.

 Also known as cast iron.

 Pig iron in addition to containing carbon, but also contains silicon, manganese and a small amount of sulfur, phosphorus, etc., it can be cast and unmalleable.

 The carbon in the cast pig iron exists in the form of sheet graphite, and its fracture is gray, usually called gray mouth iron.

 Because the graphite is soft and has the lubrication effect, the casting of pig iron has good cutting, wear resistance and casting properties.

 But its tensile strength is not enough, so it can not be forged, can only be used for the manufacture of various castings, such as casting a variety of machine bed seat, iron pipe, etc.

 Pig iron is the most basic raw material for casting. For a long time, the quality control of cast pig iron often stays at the level of chemical composition.

 With the continuous progress of China's machinery manufacturing industry, large-scale mechanized production of large-scale casting production enterprises, the quality requirements of pig iron are getting higher and higher, we not only require the chemical composition of pig iron to be appropriate, but also the appearance quality of pig iron, slag content, density and so on have high requirements.

 Casting pig iron is produced by small blast furnace. At the same time, because there is no unified standard used in the production of the iron casting machine, and there is no standard system in the use process, there are many factors affecting the quality of pig iron.
